TOP Educational Learning Consultant (TOPELC)
Identify the learning problem. Teach the solution. Build your own professional service.
TEACH ONE PERSON (TOP)
Become a TOP Educational Learning Consultant
You know how to teach.
- Now learn how to identify why a student is struggling to learn.
- Every teacher encounters students who:
- study for hours but achieve little
- cannot concentrate
- forget what they have studied
- read the same material repeatedly
- cannot understand what they read
- keep making the same mistakes
- don't know how to practice effectively
- become confused during examinations
- struggle to organize their studies
Often, the problem is not a lack of intelligence or effort.
The student may simply be using the wrong way of learning.
What is TOP?
Teach One Person (TOP) is a structured approach to helping students identify and overcome academic and study difficulties.
The model has been developed from extensive experience working with educational institutions.
The principle is simple:
Don't teach the student everything.
Identify what is preventing the student from learning, and teach what the student needs.
Why Become a TOP Educational Learning Consultant?
Many educational institutions need additional support for students who struggle academically, but they may not need or be able to employ a full-time specialist.
As a TOP Educational Learning Consultant, you can develop an independent service for educational institutions.
You can:
✓ Work directly with students
✓ Identify their specific learning difficulties
✓ Use a structured screening process
✓ Select appropriate study interventions
✓ Help students practice those interventions
✓ Monitor their progress
✓ Develop professional relationships with schools and colleges
✓ Offer your services on an hourly or retainer basis
✓ Build your own professional income
Who Can Become a TOP Educational Learning Consultant?
The initial program is designed particularly for:
B.Ed. Graduates
You already have a foundation in:
- teaching
- learning
- classroom processes
- student behavior
- educational practice
TOP adds another dimension:
How do you identify the specific learning difficulty that is preventing an individual student from progressing?
What Will You Learn?
Your training will introduce you to the TOP system, including:
1. Student Difficulty Screening
You will learn to use the:
SASD-30-BE
Student Academic & Study Difficulty Screener -- B.Ed. Edition
It helps identify areas such as:
- reading
- understanding
- memory
- attention
- study management
- examination performance
- learning habits
The screener is a starting point for understanding a student's academic difficulty, not a diagnostic test for psychological or psychiatric disorders.
2. The 59 Secrets to Studying
You will learn how to select appropriate interventions from the 59 Secrets to Studying.
For example:
Student:
"I have to read the same chapter again and again."
↓
Identify the difficulty
↓
Select the appropriate Secret
↓
Teach the strategy
↓
Practice it with the student's actual study material
↓
Observe whether the difficulty changes
This is very different from simply telling a student:
"Read it again."
3. One-to-One Learning Intervention
TOP is not another tuition program.
You will learn to work with the student's specific learning problem.
The basic TOP process is:
SCREEN
Identify the difficulty.
↓
UNDERSTAND
Find out what is happening.
↓
SELECT
Choose the appropriate intervention.
↓
TEACH
Explain the strategy.
↓
PRACTICE
Apply it to real study material.
↓
REVIEW
Check whether it is helping.
↓
FOLLOW UP
Consolidate or modify the intervention.
4. Recognizing Your Limits
A professional educational consultant must know not only:
"What can I help with?"
but also:
"What is outside my scope?"
TOP Educational Learning Consultants are trained to work with academic and study difficulties.
They are not trained through TOP to diagnose or treat:
- mental disorders
- psychiatric conditions
- medical conditions
- clinical anxiety or depression
- serious behavioral disorders
- family or safeguarding problems
When a student's difficulty appears to require specialized professional attention, the appropriate response is:
Recognize → Stop → Refer
The student's welfare comes first.
How Does the Professional Opportunity Work?
You do not become an employee of TOP.
The idea is to help you develop your own independent educational-support service.
You can approach:
- schools
- colleges
- coaching institutions
- educational organizations
- other institutions serving students
You can offer your services:
Hourly
or
Monthly Retainer
The professional arrangement is between you and the institution.
What Does TOP Provide?
TOP provides the:
- framework

The TOP Gurukula
TOP follows a modern interpretation of the Gurukula principle:
Learn → Practice → Demonstrate → Serve → Prosper → Give Back
Training is offered without a mandatory training fee.
The purpose is to make practical knowledge accessible to people who are willing to learn and use it responsibly.
Guru Kanike
If, after becoming successful, you feel grateful for the knowledge and guidance received, you may voluntarily offer Guru Kanike.
It is:
- not a compulsory fee
- not a commission
- not a percentage of your income
- not a condition for participation
It is simply an optional expression of gratitude.
The Gurukula relationship should have obligations on BOTH sides
The Guru's responsibility:
· Share knowledge generously.
· Share practical experience.
· Train rather than merely lecture.
· Correct mistakes.
· Help the learner develop independent judgement.
· Continue to guide when appropriate.

You Don't Have to Wait for a Job
A B.Ed. qualification traditionally prepares you to work in education.
TOP asks another question:
Can you use your educational knowledge to create a professional service of your own?
You don't have to wait for an institution to create a position for you.
You can create a service around what you already know.
A Message from the Founder
I have worked as a Consultant Psychologist with more than 50 educational institutions.
Over the years, I have seen that many students do not necessarily need more teaching. They need someone to identify what is preventing them from learning effectively.
I have developed TOP to make this approach replicable.I don't want this experience to remain limited to the institutions I have personally served.
I want qualified people to learn the approach, use it responsibly, help students, and build a livelihood from their own professional service.
I provide the knowledge and framework.
You develop the professional service.
The student benefits from both.
