Secret 44/59: Identify Errors and List Them
Do not just study.
Identify your errors.
List them.
Number them.
Name them.
Why This Is Important
Most students:
- See
mistakes.
- Feel
bad.
- Move
on.
That is useless.
Mistakes must be analyzed.
Errors are not failures.
They are diagnostic tools.
What Should You Do?
Suppose you are learning 20 concepts.
You fail in 5.
Do not simply say:
“I did not understand.”
Ask:
- Why
did I miss this?
- Was
it confusion?
- Was
it carelessness?
- Was
it a lack of clarity?
- Was
it a misreading of the question?
- Was
it weak memory?
- Was
it fatigue?
List the reasons.
The Error Register Method
Maintain an “Error List.”
Write:
- Type
of mistake
- Reason
for mistake
- What
to do to reduce it
For example:
Error 1 – Misreading keywords
Solution – Underline key terms before answering
Error 2 – Confusing similar formulas
Solution – Write difference side by side
Error 3 – Rushing
Solution – Slow down first reading
Reduce at Least One Error
You may not eliminate all mistakes immediately.
But reduce at least one.
Every week.
Gradually, errors decrease.
Skill increases.
Why This Works
When you identify a mistake clearly,
The brain registers it.
Once consciously recognized,
You rarely repeat the same mistake.
Unidentified mistakes repeat.
Identified mistakes are reduced.
Skill Development Principle
Skill improves not by repetition alone.
Skill improves by:
Repetition + Correction.
Without correction, practice reinforces error.
Final Message
Do not hide from your mistakes.
List them.
Name them.
Reduce them.
Errors are stepping stones.
That is Secret 44
