Secret 48/59: Improve Study Speed | Reduce Time in Every Practice Trial
Once accuracy is achieved, the next goal
is speed.
Speed means reducing the time taken to
perform a task.
But remember:
The time taken can never be zero.
However, through practice, you can reduce
it to the minimum possible time.
Practice with a Time
Goal
When practicing a skill, observe the time
taken.
Trial 1 → 12 minutes
Trial 2 → 10 minutes
Trial 3 → 8 minutes
Trial 4 → 7 minutes
This shows improvement.
Speed increases gradually through repeated
trials.
Minimum Time
Every task has a minimum practical time.
You cannot reduce time indefinitely.
At some point, you will reach the fastest
possible speed without making errors.
That is your optimal performance level.
Two Consecutive
Minimum-Time Trials
Just as accuracy requires two consecutive
errorless trials,
Speed requires two consecutive trials at
the minimum time.
Why?
Because one fast attempt may be
accidental.
Two consecutive fast attempts indicate
true mastery.
Accuracy Before Speed
Never try to increase speed before accuracy.
If speed increases while errors increase,
Learning becomes unstable.
The correct order is:
Accuracy
Stability
Speed
Real-Life Example
Typing on a keyboard.
At first:
You type slowly but carefully.
After accuracy develops,
Speed improves naturally.
Eventually, you type quickly without
thinking about each letter.
This is mastery.
Final Message
Learning is complete only when:
You can perform the task correctly
and quickly.
Reduce time in every trial.
Stop only when you reach the minimum time
twice consecutively.
That is Secret 48
